University Launches New Scholarship Program for Underprivileged Students

Published on:10 Sep 2024

In a bid to support underprivileged students, the University of Mwanza has introduced a new scholarship program aimed at providing financial assistance for tuition and living expenses. The initiative, which is funded through donations and alumni contributions, seeks to empower talented students from low-income backgrounds to pursue higher education without financial burden. The university encourages eligible students to apply before the upcoming deadline.

This program is part of the university’s broader effort to promote inclusivity and equal opportunities in education. Alongside financial aid, recipients will also have access to mentorship programs, career guidance, and academic support services to ensure their success throughout their studies. The university hopes that this scholarship will not only uplift individuals but also contribute to the development of the community by fostering skilled and educated graduates who can make meaningful contributions to society.

In addition to the financial and academic support, the scholarship program will also provide students with opportunities for internships and hands-on experience in their fields of study. The University of Mwanza has partnered with various organizations and companies to offer these placements, ensuring that students gain practical skills alongside their education. This holistic approach is designed to equip students with the tools they need to excel both academically and professionally, ultimately preparing them for successful careers after graduation.
